As candidates submit their interviews, your dashboard fills up. Bridge Labs gives you four actions to keep that list organized: Shortlist, Reject, Archive, and Delete. Each serves a distinct purpose, so you always know where every candidate stands without losing history you might need later.

Accessing Candidate Actions

From the candidate dashboard, locate the candidate card you want to act on. Click the three-dot menu (…) in the top-right corner of the card. A dropdown appears with four options: Shortlist, Reject, Archive, and Delete.

You can apply these actions to any candidate who has submitted a response. Candidates still in pending status (link sent but not yet completed) can also be managed from this menu.

The Four Candidate Actions

Shortlist

Shortlisting moves a candidate into your active consideration list. Use this action when a candidate’s submission stands out and you want to flag them for the next stage, whether that is a live interview, a hiring manager review, or a client presentation. Shortlisted candidates stay visible in your main dashboard and are easy to filter or export when you are ready to share them. For staffing agencies and recruiting firms, shortlisting is how you curate the slate you present to a client.

Reject

Rejecting a candidate signals that they are not moving forward for this role. Their card remains in your dashboard but is visually marked as rejected, making it easy to distinguish from active candidates without removing their submission from your records. Rejected candidates are not automatically notified through Bridge Labs. If your process includes sending feedback or a rejection message, that communication happens outside the platform.

Archive

Archiving removes a candidate from your active view without permanently deleting them. Archived candidates are stored in your history and can be retrieved later. Use Archive when:
  • A candidate is a strong fit but applied at the wrong time. You may want to revisit them for a future opening.
  • The position has been filled, but you want to keep the submission on file.
  • You are cleaning up your dashboard between hiring cycles without losing the data.
Archive is the right choice whenever you are unsure whether you will need the record again. It keeps your active view clean while preserving everything.

Delete

Deleting permanently removes a candidate and their submission from Bridge Labs. This action cannot be undone. Use Delete only when you are certain the record is no longer needed. Common cases include:
  • Test submissions you created during setup.
  • Duplicate entries where the same candidate submitted more than once.
  • Submissions that were sent to the wrong interview by mistake.
If there is any chance you will need the record later, choose Archive instead.
Deleting is permanent. There is no way to recover a deleted candidate or their video submission. When in doubt, archive instead of delete.

Filtering Your Dashboard by Status

After applying these actions, use the filter controls on your dashboard to view candidates by status. You can quickly pull up only your shortlisted candidates when preparing a client presentation, or switch to the archived view when a new role opens and you want to check your bench.

Keeping your pipeline organized with these four actions means your dashboard always reflects your current priorities, and nothing falls through the cracks.
