# AI Scoring: Objective, Explainable Insights for Hiring and Interview Practice

> Bridge Labs AI scoring evaluates every response against a shared rubric, delivering explainable insights that help hiring teams shortlist faster and help individuals understand exactly how to improve.

Every time someone watches a video interview and forms an impression, a host of subjective factors can influence the outcome. For hiring teams, that means unconscious bias creeping into shortlisting decisions. For coaches working with clients, it means feedback that varies session to session based on energy, context, and memory. Bridge Labs AI scoring is designed to solve both problems. It evaluates every response against the same structured rubric and produces objective, explainable scores that hiring teams can act on immediately and that individuals can use to understand precisely where they need to improve.

<Note>
  AI Scoring is currently in **Beta**. The feature is fully functional and available to all Bridge Labs customers. We are actively refining the models based on real-world feedback. If you encounter unexpected results or have observations to share, contact support.

## What the AI Evaluates

Bridge Labs AI analyzes each video response across dimensions that are directly relevant to real interview performance. Rather than relying on surface impressions, it measures what the person actually demonstrates when answering your questions:

* **Clarity:** How clearly and precisely the person communicates their answer. Are ideas organized and easy to follow?
* **Tone:** The person's professionalism, confidence, and composure throughout their response.
* **Problem-solving:** The quality of reasoning and structure applied when working through a question.
* **Communication:** Overall verbal fluency, response relevance, and the ability to articulate complex ideas concisely.

Each dimension is scored against the rubric you configure for the role or session, ensuring that what is measured actually reflects what you are looking for.

## How AI Scoring Serves Both Use Cases

    Every candidate is scored against the exact same rubric with no variation based on who is reviewing or when the review takes place. Merit-based data replaces gut-feel judgment, giving your team undeniable evidence for every shortlisting decision and a defensible record if those decisions are ever questioned.

    After completing a mock interview session, you receive a score breakdown for every answer you gave. Instead of vague impressions from a practice partner, you see exactly which dimensions of your response were strong and which need work, so your next attempt is more targeted and your improvement is measurable.

    AI scoring gives coaches and career programs an objective starting point for every client or student conversation. Rather than relying on real-time impressions formed while running the session, you arrive at each coaching call with structured data already in hand and a clear agenda for the work ahead.

## How Scores Are Generated

When someone submits their interview, Bridge Labs AI processes each video response against the configured rubric automatically. Scores are ready within minutes and appear immediately when you open the session in your dashboard.

1. **Rubric configuration:** When you create an interview or practice session, you select or define the competencies that matter. Bridge Labs maps these to its scoring framework.
2. **Response analysis:** For each video response, the AI evaluates language, structure, delivery, and reasoning against the rubric criteria.
3. **Score generation:** A weighted score is produced per dimension along with an overall score that summarizes performance across all questions.
4. **Summary creation:** Alongside the scores, Bridge Labs generates a written summary that distils the key insights from the session into a concise, readable narrative.

## Interview Summaries and Reports

Beyond raw scores, Bridge Labs generates a plain-language summary for every session. For hiring teams, these summaries are useful during team calibration and for sharing with hiring managers who do not have time to watch full videos. For coaches, they provide a ready-made record of each client's performance to reference across multiple sessions and track improvement over time. For job seekers, they translate AI scores into plain language so the feedback is immediately actionable.

When a formal record is needed, Bridge Labs exports the full scoring breakdown, summary, and rubric details as a PDF report. This is useful for hiring compliance, for coaches sharing progress reports with clients, and for career programs documenting student development.

<Warning>
  AI scoring is a decision-support tool, not a decision-maker. Bridge Labs AI provides structured, objective data to inform judgment. It does not hire, reject, or grade anyone on your behalf. Every score and summary should be reviewed by a qualified person before decisions are made based on them.

## Continuous Auditing

Bridge Labs continuously monitors its scoring models for drift, inconsistency, and emergent bias. The system is regularly validated against fairness benchmarks, and patterns that suggest scoring irregularities are flagged for review. You can rely on the AI layer to remain consistent not just across a single role or session, but across every interview your organization or program runs over time.
